If you need to reduce your workforce temporarily or permanently, you need to follow layoff procedures established by the State Universities Civil Service System and the University. A layoff is a stoppage of work, required by management, because of reduction in the amount of work, discontinuance of a particular kind of work, lack of available funds, lack of available space for execution of the work planned, interruptions caused by unfavorable weather, and emergency of catastrophic situation.
