The performance appraisal process is designed to provide a formal opportunity for communication and feedback between a supervisor and an employee. Performance appraisals also provide an opportunity to discuss and set goals for the coming evaluation period.
Performance Appraisals are required for Civil Service employees on an annual basis. Additional appraisals are required during any probationary period.
The Office of Human Resources provides a standard evaluation form for both exempt and non-exempt Civil Service positions. We recognize different areas may benefit from customized forms. Departments are encouraged to develop their own forms to better suit their specific needs. Forms need to be reviewed by Human Resources prior to use.
