The performance appraisal process is designed to provide a formal opportunity for communication and feedback between a supervisor and an employee. Performance appraisals also provide an opportunity to discuss and set goals for the coming evaluation period.
HR provides a standard template for performance appraisals, but recognizes the needs of departments to create unique evaluation guidelines. Departments may develop their own forms to better suit their specific needs. Forms need to be reviewed by Human Resources prior to use.
