Department Orientation

Ensuring that new employees acclimate to their surroundings is crucial to helping them get off on the right foot. It is very important for new employees to feel welcomed, both as members of the University, and of their respective departments. Helping all new employees to quickly establish themselves has many immediate benefits and frequently leads to increased job performance and satisfaction.

University Orientation

A successful department orientation does not take the place of the New Employee Orientation hosted by Human Resources. Please encourage your new staff member to schedule and attend one of these sessions. They will receive information and guidance for selecting health insurance benefits -- including optional insurance offerings, learn about the SURS retirement plan, receive their photo ID, and hear more about the university culture that makes Illinois State University a great place to work.
