Dependent Care Assistance Plan (DCAP)

The Dependent Care Assistance Plan permits active academic and staff employees of Illinois State University to pay for allowable child care expenses with tax-free dollars.  For more information, visit the Human Resources Benefits Section Web page for a description of the program.

Child Care Resource and Referral Network (CCRRN)

Individuals with a low income may be eligible for state funding of childcare.

You can get help paying for childcare if:

  • you have a child (or children) under the age of 13, and
  • you (and your spouse) are working, and
  • your family fits in one of the income categories below.
Income categories to be eligible for child care payments:
Family Size
Maximum Gross Annual Income
2 $17,663
3 $21,819
4 $25,975
5 $30,131
6 $34,288
7 $35,067
8 $35,846

There are no waiting lists.  All families who fall within the income categories for their family size are eligible. All families pay a portion of the cost as a co-payment.  The amount of the family’s co-payment is based on income, family size, and number of children in care.
