On-Line MEntal Health Screenings

The Wellness Program has established an arrangement with the Screening for Mental Health organization to offer four On-line Screening Program to Illinois State faculty and staff, and their adult family members. These assessments are being offered with support from the University Health Education Coordinating Council (UHECC) and the McLean County Mental Health Association.

  • Depression – Manic-Depression
  • Alcohol Problems
  • Eating Disorders
  • Anxiety-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

These screenings enable users to find out if a consultation with a mental health professional is advisable. If after completing one or more of the screenings, you determine that you would like to speak with a mental health professional, please contact one of the following resources:

A. Employee Assistance Plan (for Illinois State University employees)

  1. Contact Magellan Behavioral Health (866) 659-3848.
  2. Illinois State University employees and their covered dependents who participate in the group insurance plans outlined below, are entitled to three visits per year with a mental health professional, at no charge. If further care is needed after these three visits, the individual must receive services through their insurance provider.

B. Insurance Coverage (for Illinois State University employees)

  1. Check your insurance coverage card for instructions regarding mental health providers.
  2. CIGNA (Quality Care Health Plan) - for mental health and substance abuse contact Magellan at (800) 513-2611.
  3. Health Alliance Medical Plans - for mental health and substance abuse contact Primary Care Physician.
  4. OSF Healthplans - for mental health and substance abuse contact United Behavioral Health (800) 420-5729.

C. PATH

  1. In Bloomington/Normal, call (309) 827-4005.
  2. Resource for those not affiliated with Illinois State University or covered by the State of Illinois Group Insurance Plans.

While such screening surveys are a valuable tool, they are best used along with a consultation with a mental health professional.

If you believe there is a more urgent need for help, in an emergency contact 911 or your local emergency number, go to the emergency room of a local hospital for an immediate consultation, or you may contact PATH at (309) 827-4005 and one of their trained volunteers will assist you.
