University faculty, staff and retirees, are encouraged to take advantage of the various Wellness Program activities, many of which are also open to adult members of their family.
The University recognizes the importance of good health and the need to maintain physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. The University encourages its employees to participate in activities and programs under the auspices of the University Wellness Program. In support of a commitment to the wellness concept, full time employees may, with approval of their supervisors, take release time of one and one half hours per week to participate in Illinois State University Wellness Program activities. Participants in Wellness Program activities are not covered by Worker's Compensation.
All faculty and staff of Illinois State University, their adult immediate family members, retirees, and Town of Normal employees can participate in Wellness Program activities. Some activities such as family swim, bowling, "family day at the Children's Discovery Museum," etc. are open to younger family members. Some fitness activities are open to ISU students, alumni, and community participants when space is available.
